These Terms and Conditions (“Terms“) form a binding agreement between you and NOWSIS
(ABN 88 646 097 994), an Australian charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-
for-profits Commission (ACNC).
They apply when you visit www.nowsis.org.au, make a donation, subscribe to our newsletter, submit a form, request help, or otherwise interact with NOWSIS through the website or our
communications.
In these Terms, “we“, “us“, and “our” refer to NOWSIS. “You” and “your” refer to anyone using the website or our services.
This is the contract between you and NOWSIS. By using the site, you're agreeing to it.
By accessing the NOWSIS website or using any of our services, you confirm that you:
If you don’t agree with any part of these Terms, please stop using the website.
You may use the NOWSIS website for lawful purposes, including learning about our work, donating, contacting us, volunteering, or applying for assistance.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or restrict your access to the website at any time if we reasonably believe you’ve breached these Terms.
When you make a donation through the NOWSIS website, the following applies:
Donations directed to a specific project (Protect a Sister, Scan a Sister, or Help a Sister) will be applied to that project. General donations are allocated by the NOWSIS board to where they’re most needed.
NOWSIS is volunteer-run, with no paid staff. We don’t take a percentage for “admin” or overhead. Your full donation is applied to project costs, less only the unavoidable payment processing fees charged by our payment provider (typically 1-3% of the donation).
If you sign up for a recurring donation, you authorise NOWSIS (via our payment provider) to
charge your payment method on the agreed schedule until you cancel. You can cancel any
time by emailing donations@www.nowsis.org.au or following the cancellation link in any of our emails.
When you donate, you confirm that the payment details and personal information you’ve
provided are accurate and that you’re authorised to use the payment method.
NOWSIS is not currently a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) under Australian tax law. This
means:
We are working toward obtaining DGR status. If and when this changes, we’ll update this page and notify donors via our newsletter and website.
Why we're transparent about this
Some charity donations feel like they should be tax-deductible. Ours aren't yet. We'd rather you know that going in than find out at tax time.
To request a refund in any of these circumstances, contact donations@www.nowsis.org.au within 30 days of the donation . Include the date, amount, and your contact details. We’ll investigate and respond within 14 days.
Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method. Refund processing times vary by payment provider, typically 5-10 business days.
We retain the right to refuse a refund where we reasonably suspect the request is fraudulent
or where the funds have already been disbursed to a project recipient.

processing your donation, or assessing your application).
