Olivia is a Doctor of Medicine student, and came to NOWSIS after a Master of Public Health and a bachelor degree in psychology. Her focus has always sat at the intersection of clinical training and the gaps that training leaves behind, particularly in women’s health, where the curriculum still treats the male body as the default. 

The pattern that started it was simple: lecture after lecture built around male anatomy and male-presenting pathology, with women’s health folded into a handful of specialist weeks instead of woven through the whole degree.  

Olivia volunteers as Board Secretary, and works directly with women to strip out the financial barriers that stand between them and abortion and contraception care. The same gap in affordability that the charity was built to close. She’s finishing her medical degree while doing it.
